Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) — The entire people of the DPRK are all
afire with ardent patriotic desire to make single-minded efforts for the
continuous prosperity and grandeur of the country on the occasion of the
glorious September. A national flag-raising and national oath-making
ceremony took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on September 9 to mark
the 77th founding anniversary of the DPRK.
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and
president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea,
was present at the commemorative event.
Present there were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the
Central Committee of the WPK and other senior officials of the Party and the
government, deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly and commanding
officers of armed forces organs.
The guard of honor of the Korean People's Army lined up at the venue of the
commemorative ceremony of the Mansudae Assembly Hall.
A ceremony of hoisting the national flag of the DPRK took place.
Guards of honor of the KPA solemnly escorted the national flag of the DPRK
to the venue of the ceremony.
The leading officials of the state paid high tribute to the national flag of the
DPRK which has served as an ever-victorious banner, recording in its flag the
great history of the dignity and glory of the indomitable Korean people for
decades along with the birth of the People's Republic.
The national flag was hoisted amid the playing of the national anthem of the
DPRK.
Looking up to the national flag with reverence, the participants shared their
patriotic will to hold higher and glorify the greatest and most beautiful country
in the world.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made a commemorative oath to mark
the 77th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

At the call of the head of state, the leading officials of the state solemnly
pledged before the sacred national flag to make devoted efforts to remain
boundlessly faithful all the time to the promotion of the people's well-being and
growth and development of the state, to firmly defend the Constitution of the
DPRK and strictly observe its legal duty, to firmly adhere to the socialist
ideology and safeguard the socialist system and to carry forward the
greatness and beauty of the motherland forever with loyalty to the beloved
motherland, as for the responsible members defending the sovereignty of the
DPRK and interests of its people and serving the state and people.
Kim Jong Un made a meaningful speech.
On the occasion of National Day, he extended warm congratulations to the
working people across the country and the officers and soldiers of the Korean
People’s Army, who, sharing the destiny of their motherland, are adding lustre
to the prestige and honour of the Republic with resourceful creation and
sincere efforts, as well as to the families across the country.
And he paid ennobling tribute to the heroes and patriotic martyrs, who
performed truly proud exploits for today and future of this Korea and remain
alive forever in the memory of their motherland, and extended a warm militant
salute to the generals, officers and soldiers of our army, who have been
dispatched for overseas military operations and would be greeting this day
with their glorious national flag in the bosom in the far-away alien land.
He also extended warm congratulations to the overseas compatriots who
would be greeting their National Day with a patriotic desire for the prosperity
of their homeland.
The cause of building a powerful country covering 77 years, which started on
the day when the birth of a new Korea was proclaimed, is being reviewed
proudly now that our state has attained a remarkable status, he said, adding
no force can reverse the powerful current towards an era of prosperity, which
we have created by ourselves.
Noting that at this moment, when our glorious and worthwhile struggle of
immortal significance has brought into reality in history the high ambition that
with force of unity fostered by the truth we will lead the whole world by and by,
there is an iron truth that we cherish deep in our hearts, he stressed the truth
is that socialism we chose is the one and only right road. It was on the

strength of the justice and truth embodied in socialism that we have won all
the glory we are enjoying today; having established a powerful political
system and built a great national strength, we will not allow the destiny of our
country to be left to any foreign forces’ devices, he said.
As a symbol of this great and beautiful Korea, socialism is the cornerstone
and inexhaustible dynamic power guaranteeing the eternal existence of our
Republic and its infinite development and prosperity, he said, adding that as
long as socialism of our style thrives, this will remain an ever peaceful and
prosperous land, and our people’s security and wellbeing will be defended for
all ages.
He ardently called for holding higher the banner of socialism and advancing
vigorously along the road of socialism for the undying glory of our Korea and
for our coming generations who should lead an enduring dignified and happy
life in the powerful and prosperous country and for building a brighter and
happier future through an indefatigable struggle and enterprising efforts
befitting Koreans.
The participants were deeply moved by the ardent speech reflecting the
steadfast faith and will of Kim Jong Un to hold the great DPRK and its
people in esteem as the strongest country and the most dignified people in
the world, and his earnest request calling on them to become vanguard
fighters in carrying out the sacred cause for overall national prosperity and
true servants of the people.
When Kim Jong Un finished his speech, enthusiastic cheers of "hurrah!"
burst out to shake the venue.
The leading officials of the state made a pledge of loyalty to uphold with a
single mind the ideology and leadership of the great Comrade Kim Jong
Un who is ushering in a new era of great changes and miracles to be
specially recorded in the history of the DPRK's growth and development and
to make devoted efforts for the eternal security and prosperity of the glorious

The participants, who were greeting the moment of honor they ardently
yearned for after meeting the dear father of our socialist state on the joyful
national day, were filled with boundless emotion and excitement.
When the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un appeared at the venue of the
photo session, all the participants broke into stormy cheers of "Hurrah!"
Highly appreciating the services of the labor innovators and meritorious
persons who are making devoted efforts to lead the rapid development of their
sectors and units in the historic struggle for this year of rounding off the
implementation of the five-year plan decided at the Eighth Congress of the
WPK, he extended warm encouragement to them.
